We all know that first impressions set the tone for an entire experience so why should Thankgiving be any different?

We all know that first impressions set the tone for an entire experience so why should Thankgiving be any different?

Here are 3 incredibly easy ways to make a fantastic first impression:

1. Tidy up your entrance and add a touch or two of something special.

The darling Happy Thanksgiving door mat shown is a great buy at less than $20 and you still have time to snap one up since it’s at Amazon one day shipping.

The striped jute rug next to my front door (above) is a new favorite of mine and is so Joanna! It’s another great value buy at Target with the Gaines’ Hearth & Hand line.

I added a few pumpkins (real and faux), a small real gourd and some silk mums tucked into Hearth & Hand galvanized lanterns (discontinued by available on Amazon) for a final touch of fall goodness.

You can add these last minute touches or use shop from what you already have at home. Things like potted plants or flowers, safety candles, dried flowers or wheat, baskets or wreaths all look lovely.

2. Choose something comfortable yet seasonal to wear.

When you’re relaxed and comfortable, it’s contagious!

This year I’m loving the under $30 budget-friendly, super soft fall vest I found on Amazon. I adore it’s pockets and that it’s easy to remove when I’m cooking and need to sport my apron—yet looks great when I throw it back on to mingle.

The cashmere crewneck (Halogen brand, sold out), Citizen of Humanity crop jeans, and Eileen Fisher booties (sold out) are all from Nordstrom.

Dressier options are awesome too provided you feel good in them and they allow you to do any cooking or prep work needed!

Create the atmosphere you want with simple touches that make a lastling impression.

3. Set out a Welcome Tray with snacks and drinks for people so they can have immediate gratification.

Folks often skip lunch, plus spending time traveling is often exhausting, and this is a great way to tend to their needs.

Read my easy step by step tips on Welcome Trays here.

Friends and family feel so cared for when you can greet them with a relaxed smile and something to drink (whether it’s non-alcoholic, a simple glass of bubbly or a fab specialty cocktail).

Plus, having something out and at the ready gives you buffer time for when the turkey’s taking just a tad longer to roast than you’d thought!

Less stress, more connection time is what’s important after all.

I wish you all a wonderful holiday filled with gratitude, joy and laughter! And hope that these tips will make your Thanksgiving special and successful.
